Learn the basics of Bronze Precious Metal Clay in this fun 2-part class with Marianne Kirksey of Blue Swallow Clothing Company. Marianne has been making her own bronze pendants for years and wants to share her knowledge with you!
In the first session, students will design pendants suitable for necklaces, earrings, or bracelets based on elements of positive and negative relief. Using buttons, found objects, or personal keepsakes we’ll create molds to cast the PMC. Marianne will then take the pieces to fire them in her kiln.
In the second session, students will clean and polish their pieces and learn to use different patinas/coloring effects. There will be time to assemble a piece into a necklace or bracelet with personal beads, chains, and findings from home. (Maybe Argenta Bead Company will be open and ready for business!)
Saturday, April 8, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and Saturday, April 15, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Class fee is $100, A materials fee of $20 will be due to teacher at time of class.
