Learn the art of the sun print with Margo Duvall. Margo earned her master’s degree of fine arts in photography from San Jose State University. Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that harnesses the power of the sun to create cyan colored photographs- the original “blueprint.” This course is hands on, experimental, and a little bit messy (in the best way). We’ll use digital and film based negatives to produce one-of-a-kind alternative photos on both paper and fabric. This course is perfect for all levels… no photo experience necessary. Ages 12 +, please.
Materials fee includes: papers, fabric, cyanotype and fixing solutions, brushes, miscellaneous printing items, and other supplies.
Items to bring:
Small translucent items, interesting flowers or plants, lace or fabric scraps, small film negatives. This process can be messy. Wear old clothes and consider bringing an apron and gloves.
