UPDATE: THIS CLASS IS TO BE RESCHEDULED

Eco-dying is an exciting technique using natural elements such as flowers, leaves, rusty metal and other items to create amazing colors and textures on paper or fabric. Learn the fabulous technique of eco-dying paper in this two-part class. On Saturday, you will layer, stack, bind, and boil watercolor papers with your natural elements to use in an altered journal of your own. While your papers boil, begin to transform an ordinary journal into a work of art with your paints, gesso, found objects, fabric scraps, ephemera, and personal mementos.  Sunday‘s techniques include inserting the dyed papers, cutting, riveting, sewing, gluing, layering, painting, and tying to reveal a journal of your vision!

Bring items of your own such as collected fresh leaves and flowers, ephemera, found objects, flat metal pieces, beads, buttons, leather, fabric, paints, metallic antiquing wax. You will need to bring a glue gun (with glue), a bone folder, and a small awl.

Materials fee will include watercolor paper, journal, string, rivets, wire, fabric, and leaves, flowers, and tools to share.

Saturday November 4, 11 AM – 3 PM AND  Sunday November 5,  12 – 3 PM

Class cost is $100. A materials fee of $25 will be due to teacher at time of class. Spaces are limited, registration is required.
