Knitting and shawls aren’t just for cold weather! Join us for Knitting Shawls, an intermediate level class, where we’ll be creating classic triangle shawls— the perfect all-season accessory. These easy accessories are fun, light, and super customize-able. In this single-session class, we’ll cover topics including lace knitting, reading patterns and charts, materials, and various shawl construction methods. This event would be perfect for those interested in knitting shawls or beginning lace. By the end of the class, students will have created the foundation for a triangle shawl, which can be knitted to the desired length. To take this class, knitters must be comfortable with casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off.
Students should bring at least 225 yards of fingerweight yarn such as Frog Tree Alpaca sport, Indiecita Baby alpaca, or cotton/viscose lace weight, and 24″ to 32″ circular knitting needles.
Most materials can be purchased at the PS Yarn by Ximena & Elle booth at South Main Creative.
