Join Molly, a juried member of the Arkansas Craft Guild, for this fun textile class! Learn how to use colorful fabric scraps to make a small 8″ Amish Knot Round Rug that is machine washable. This Scandinavian knotting technique of rug making uses only half the fabric of a traditional braided rug, and regained popularity during the Depression as a way to reuse fabrics and save money. What a great way to engage in slow decorating! Once you learn, use your fabrics that have been gathering dust in the corner or go thrifting to find pretty fabrics to recycle. Then you’ll be on your way to making larger sizes! Ages 12+, please.
Materials fee covers a small rug starter kit with core fabric, pretty scraps, and a needle.
